Biography | Thiab R. Taha

Thiab R. Taha is Professor Emeritus in the School of Computing at the University of Georgia. He joined UGA in 1982 and served the university for more than four decades through teaching, research, administration, curriculum development, professional service, and international collaboration.

He served as Head of the Department of Computer Science from July 2013 through June 2022, followed by service as Interim Director of the School of Computing from July 2022 through June 2023.

His research interests include computational science, parallel computing, numerical methods, nonlinear evolution equations, water waves, optical-fiber communication systems, and systems biology.

He has published more than 100 journal and conference papers, delivered more than 100 invited presentations, organized major international conferences, and served in senior editorial and professional leadership roles.
